Windows 8 is all Microsoft. Chris Carlucci, a former IT manager from the great state of Massachusetts, shared some correspondence with CNet between him and Microsoft in which he tried to offer up a suggestion for Windows 8. Here's the reply he received.
"I understand you would like to submit a suggestion for the next generation of Windows. I will be glad to assist you with the information," a Microsoft customer service representative named Alex wrote in an email, according to CNet.
Sounds like Chris is off to a good start, but it quickly becomes clear that Windows 8 is all Microsoft.
"Chris, I would like to inform you that, while Microsoft does accept suggestions for existing products and services, we do not accept suggestions for new products, technologies, processes," Alex explains. "We hope that you will understand our intention to avoid any potential misunderstandings or disputes that may arise from submissions of information not related to current Microsoft products. Thus, we are returning your information without review."
In other words, even if you have an awesome idea for Windows 8, Microsoft isn't interested in hearing about it, lest you take the Redmond software giant to court and tell the judge, "I'm a PC, and Windows 8 was my idea. Make Microsoft pay me."
