EA: Origin Already at Four Million Users, Third-Party Games Coming “Very Soon” !

In launching its own PC game download service, EA may have taken a headfirst dive into an extremely crowded pool, but it certainly hasn't bellyflopped. So then, you may not like it – especially given that it's aiming to be your sole supplier of EA's heaviest hitters – but EA CFO Eric Brown says that Origin isn't going anywhere any time soon.
"We're fairly excited about Origin," Brown said during a UBS conference in London (as reported by Gamasutra). "We have about 4 million installs of the client, we expect that number to climb substantially as we enter this holiday season."
"Initially, Origin is set up to deliver EA games, but very soon, we'll be delivering third-party content to Origin," he added.
So then, have any of you taken Origin for a spin? Do you think it deserves its big-bad-wolf-who's-devoured-the-boy-who-cried-wolf-and-the-creators-of-Wolfenstein reputation? Or is this just another instance of all being fair in love and capitalism?
